News!

•  2013 Chicago Bass Festival at Ravinia on Sunday February 3!  My jazz masterclass will take place at 1PM in Bennett Hall.  www.chicagobassfestival.org

•  Starting work in December on the new Chevere de Chicago DVD, taken from a performance at the Green Mill.

•  CD release party for 3 by Bradley Williams, Eric Hochberg & Jim Widlowski is scheduled for September 25, 2012 at the Jazz Showcase and is sponsored by WDCB

•  Joined pianist Greg Spero and drummer Ernie Adams for the Chicago Human Rhythm Project’s Rhythm World 22 at the Jazz Showcase and Museum of Contemorary Art, July 31-August 4, 2012

•  Joining pianist Dan Hearle and drummer Jack Mouse in the rhythm section for the annual Janice Borla Jazz Vocal Camp at North Central College, July 21-27, 2012.

•  Bassists, the Chicago Bass Festival takes place again this year at Ravinia on Sunday, February 5, 2012.  I will be giving a master class and am looking forward to hearing 5-6 bassists play.  If you would like a performing spot, please shoot me an email.  An accompanist will be provided.  Please check the CBF website for details.

•  I’m happy to announce that The Eric Hochberg Trio is now the house band at Catch 35 Chicago.  Our former leader, Rob Parton has moved on to a new teaching position at Capitol University in Columbus, OH.  We wish him all the best!

•  Performed with Peter Erskine, Janice Siegel, David “Fingers” Haynes and others at the KIN

•  I played in a scene for the new Kelsey Grammer series, “Boss”, directed by Gus Van Sant, as part of the Tango Band in Chicago’s famed Empire Room.

•  I played with Johnny Mathis and Josh Grobin on the Oprah Winfrey Show, November 22, 2010.

•  Future Tense by Eric Hochberg, Steve Eisen and Andrew Scott Potter is now available for download at CD Baby.

•  I have been appointed Artist Teacher of Jazz Bass at the Music Conservatory of The Chicago College of Performing Arts / Roosevelt University beginning fall of 2010.

•  I played with Barbra Streisand on the Oprah Winfrey Show, September 24, 2009.  

Also recorded a track for Joanie Pallatto’s new cd with vocalist/pianist Bob Dorough and harmonica master Howard Levy.  One of my favorite tunes, Simone, by Frank Foster with lyrics by Joanie.  This should be a good one!  January 2011 release date.
