Recording a new project of all original compositions with pianist Brad Williams and drummer Jim Widlowski. 

I’m happy to announce that The Eric Hochberg Trio will be the house band at Catch 35 in Chicago starting in August.  Our former leader, Rob Parton has moved on to a new teaching position at Capitol University in Columbus, OH.  We wish him all the best!

I’ll be teaching at the Merit School of Music Jazz Camp July 11-22 in Chicago.  Looking forward to working with the kids!

I played in a scene for the new Kelsey Grammer series, “Boss”, directed by Gus Van Sant, as part of the Tango Band in Chicago’s famed Empire Room.

Bassists, the Chicago Bass Festival takes place again this year at Ravinia on Sunday, February 6.  I will be giving a master class at 10:00AM and am looking forward to hearing 5-6 bassists play.  If you would like a performing spot, please shoot me an email.  An accompanist will be provided.

Starting work on a new album for Mark Colby with Jeremy Kahn and Bob Rummage.

I played with Johnny Mathis and Josh Grobin on the Oprah Winfrey Show, November 22, 2010.

I have been appointed Artist Teacher of Jazz Bass at the Music Conservatory of The Chicago College of Performing Arts / Roosevelt University beginning fall of 2010.

I played with Barbra Streisand on the Oprah Winfrey Show, September 24, 2009.  

Also recorded a track for Joanie Pallatto’s new cd with vocalist/pianist Bob Dorough and harmonica master Howard Levy.  One of my favorite tunes, Simone, by Frank Foster with lyrics by Joanie.  This should be a good one!  January 2011 release date.
